Dr. Freeland, DO

Dr. Daniel Freeland is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians. Dr. Freeland holds a D.O. degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, a BS in Chemistry from Truman University and a Certification of Added Qualifications in Occupational Medicine.

Moving to Austin in 1990, Dr. Freeland served as a Family Practice doctor in the U.S. Air Force from 1990-1993 during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He practiced emergency medicine at Georgetown, Smithville, Brenham and Rockdale hospitals, as well as urgent care medicine for more than 10 years at ProMed Medical Clinics in Austin, TX. Dr. Freeland is a Certified Physician Investigator, and served as Medical Director of Cedra Clinical Research from 2002-2005. Dr. Freeland and his family moved to Lakeway in 2003.

Dr. Timothy J Doyle, DO

Dr. Tim Doyle, DODr. Timothy Doyle received his medical training from the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Osteopathic Medicine. He did both his Internship and his residency program at the Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas UNT Health Science Center and was the recipient of the Robert G. Haman Memorial Scholarship in 2001. Dr. Doyle was voted 2011 Best Doctor in Hunt County, TX in the Readers Choice Awards. He is board-certified in Family Medicine and Manipulative Medicine and holds a memberships in the American and Texas Osteopathic Medical Associations, and the American and Texas College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. 

Dr. Doyle also attained a PhD in Physics from Texas Christian University and has a B.S.
in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Texas at Arlington.

His professional interests include preventive medicine, migraines, chronic and acute pain, osteopathic manipulation therapy, medical acupuncture, and sports medicine. His personal hobbies include fishing, water sports, hunting, cooking, and woodwork. Dr. Doyle and his wife have two daughters who have left the nest.

Kim Harris, FNP-C

Kim Harris, FNP-C

Kim Harris is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). She graduated with a Master’s degree from U.C.L.A., with honors.

With more than 25 years of experience, Kim has worked in a variety of settings including family practice, college health, wellness center and mobile clinic settings serving the homeless. She has also taught college nursing classes and served as a mentor for nurse practitioner students. She is passionate about preventive health, health education and has a heart for the underserved, volunteering in Haiti after the earthquake and regularly at a local free clinic.

Kim is excited to be working with the knowledgeable and caring staff at Bee Caves Family Practice. She enjoys the personal connection with patients.

In her free time, Kim enjoys reading, rowing, exercising, skiing, hiking, watching her boys play baseball and generally being outside. She loves the Lakeway and Austin area for the great people and wide variety of activities. Kim lives in the Lakeway area with her husband and their dog ‘Lilly’. She has two boys that attend college and both play collegiate baseball, one in Connecticut and one in North Carolina.

Carissa Madrid, FNP

Carissa Madrid

Carissa Madrid is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and is nationally accredited by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Originally from El Paso, Texas, Carissa attended UT Health Science Center in San Antonio receiving her Master of Science in Nursing in 2016. Before coming to BCFP, she served on the oncology, bone marrow transplant teams at St. David’s North and South Austin Medical Centers.

Carissa is enthusiastic about preventive and chronic care medicine, as well as patient education. She has a heart for medical outreach having spent time treating and teaching health education to patients in San Antonio and Guatemala. After joining the Bee Caves Family Practice provider group, Carissa has worked closely with Dr. Freeland to become proficient in traditional as well as alternative medical treatment, and has a passion for helping patients prevent chronic disease. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, listening to live music and spending time with family and friends.

Melody Volz, FNP-C

Melody Volz is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and is nationally accredited by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, receiving her Master of Science in Nursing in 2014. Prior to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner and joining the BCFP provider staff, Melody worked at the University Medical Center Brackenridge for almost five years.

Melody is passionate about preventive and alternative medicine and helping others. She is excited to join the rest of the Bee Caves Family Practice team and has greatly enjoyed the patient relationships she has formed. She lives in the Austin area with her husband and two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, reading, exercising, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
